Black & Decker 8 Cup Thermal Programmable Coffeemaker

So much potential
Thermal execution spot on. However, there are two fundamental issues with the design.
1. It's prone to spillage if you do not get the coffee basket assembled correctly there is a very good chance that you'll have a mess to clean up.
2. Thermally the carafe is excellent however, after 6 months the lid failed. The plastic leaver to pour coffee broke and the add insult to injury - you can't seem to find a replacement carafe.

So this coffeemaker has tremendous potential if you can fix these really minor design issues.
1. I would recommend guide pins that will not allow you to close the water top unless they are aligned could fix this problem.
2. Perhaps a different material for the pour leaver or make spare tops or carafes available at a reasonable price.
Do this and you have a spot on product. Right now you just have one disappointed customer

The perfect cup of coffee!!!
NO MORE BITTER COFFEE!!!! I LOVE my new Black & Decker! I love how unlike most models of coffee makers with a glass carafe and a heated plate, this does not make mouth scalding hot coffee. I feel most coffee makers heat the water so much it burns the coffee, making it bitter and nasty. In my opinion this model makes the perfect cup. I have had none of the problems mentioned by other reviewers. I am nothing but pleased with my new Black & Decker, after trying several other (more expensive) coffee makers I must say this is your best bet if you want a good flavorful cup of coffee.

Very Good and energy saving.
I bought it to drink coffee. It makes a good cup and it saves energy. Once it brews the coffee it turns off. The coffee is very hot when it first gets brew. The clock stays on time. Do not have to worry about a glass and it breaking. It keeps liquids warm. The only missing button is a strength button. The coffee gets brewed rather quickly, I wish I could slow it down so that the coffee comes out stronger with less. I am now using it to brew green tea and it works great.
