Waring MG105 Professional Meat Grinder

Waring Pro MG-105
I've been shopping for a meat grinder for awhile and ran across this model at Bed Bath and Beyond. This unit has a 500W motor instead of the lesser priced units that use paper shredder motors. It powers through beef likes its nobody's business. I ground an entire 6lb brisket into hamburger in about 2 minutes. Great unit, nice finish, reversable motor, cast aluminum throat and pan. Solid steel cutter blade and orifice plates (3). Also comes with two different sausage nozzles so you can make your own brats or breakfast sausages. Paid $79 at BB&B. Great unit for the price.

It would be good if they used steel internal gears
After maybe grinding up 20 or so pounds of pork, the machine started to make internal noises and ceased to work. After pulling it apart I found cheap plastic gears that were stripped of their teeth. I can't find replacement parts online and I emailed manufacture no response yet. My advise spend some the extra cash and buy a STX, because that is what I will be doing soon. I'm sure if I get another set of gears it will only be a matter of time before they strip too.

love it
A friend had one of these. We were fortunate enough to be able to try it out before we bought it. It was great! We have used ours. I love being able to make ground meat and sausages with wholesome ingredients no additives, preservatives, etc. We have been using it most recently with venison. The recipes that we have tried that are in the manual are great. We also have tried others we like to. It is fun and easy, and easy to clean.
